Barat Ali Ahmadi
Owner & Head Baker
Born and raised in the bustling streets of Kabul, Barat Ali learned the sacred art of Afghan baking from his father at the age of eight. For over three decades, he has dedicated his life to preserving the time-honored techniques of the tandoor, mastering the delicate balance of flour, water, and fire that produces our signature naans.
When Barat Ali opened Kamiyab Bakery, his vision was simple: to share the warmth, flavors, and rich heritage of Afghanistan with the Markham community. Every loaf, every pastry, and every sweet treat carries the soul of his homeland — baked fresh each morning with the same passion and tradition passed down through generations.
I'm inspired by my dad who had his own bakery before me.
